“I lost my husband and father of my children during Covid due to cancer. It was a time where we were dealing with so much uncertainty with Covid and we had to grieve alone which made the situation tougher. The Cove group became our extended family. We can talk freely about our experience and struggles and our children got to meet other children who were experiencing the same type of grief to understand that they were not alone. The Cove helped with our immense grief and understand that even in our deepest darkest moments, we were not alone.”
- Cove Parent
The Cove is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded 30 years ago, dedicated to providing free grief support services throughout Connecticut for children and their families who have experienced the death of a close loved one. Today, The Cove has grown to be the largest free grief support organization for children in the state. Approximately 1 in 12 children in the state of CT will be bereaved by the death of a parent or sibling by the time they turn 18 (CBEM, 2022) and many families have difficulty accessing at-cost programs. The Cove seeks to reduce the negative outcomes associated with unresolved childhood grief and the barriers to care by offering the Family Program, Camp Compassion, Virtual Programs, Professional Development Trainings, and Summer Programs all completely FREE to families.
Help us continue to offer hope and healing to grieving children and their families through our free supportive programs by making a donation towards our golf tournament today!
